Message from the Co-Chairs

Welcome to the 2017 Annual Meeting of the International Society for Cellular Therapy!  This is the first time London has played host to ISCT and we are certain that it will provide the perfect venue for our Silver Jubilee as ISCT celebrates 25 years as a Society.

As Co-Chairs of the Annual Meeting, and on behalf of the Organizing Committee and the ISCT Executive Committee, we are delighted to invite you to join us in London from May 3 to 6, 2017. The venue, ExCeL London, is our largest ever, with plenty of networking space, and we expect the meeting and the attendees to reflect the diversity and excitement of the host city.

This year we have adapted the format of the conference to better reflect the exciting breadth of our field and to provide different themes for each day. The program is arranged around cell and gene therapies and tissue engineering applications. The huge increase in clinical trials in cell/gene/tissue therapies over the past 25 years, together with several new therapies reaching the patient, allows us to showcase the best of the field throughout the world whilst still presenting the finest basic science and pre-clinical research; these will be presented in educational visionary plenary sessions and follow-on by topic focused “plenary breakouts”.

We have created the largest ever number of oral presentation slots to be selected from submitted abstracts and presented in the breakouts, alongside our world renowned speakers. We invite you to fully participate in the Annual Meeting by submitting an abstract of your work covering all aspects of cell, gene and tissue therapies.

Each morning of the meeting will start with a “Hot topic” session to provoke discussion and the day will close with the now traditional “beer & posters” sessions.

London is fortunate to host three of the UK centers of excellence for cell/gene/tissue therapy – the consortia of Imperial College London, University College London and Kings College, plus the UK Cell & Gene Therapy Catapult and MedCity. We will use these unique resources to create opportunities for young career professionals to attend social and networking gatherings with their contemporaries who are based in London.

London is one of the most exciting and cosmopolitan cities in the World and a very fitting venue to celebrate our Silver Jubilee. We look forward to see you in London to explore and experience the developments in cell and gene therapy together with the leading scientists, clinicians, policy makers, regulators and product developers from academia, industry, regulatory agencies and clinics while celebrating ISCT’s 25th anniversary at the Annual Meeting in May 2017.
